Citizen Science projects

From reporting your wildlife and seaweed sightings to fun-filled family activities at the beach, there are lots of free ways for you to get involved with our work.

Citizen science is a collaborative effort by members of the public to gather and share scientific data that can inform research and inspire change. Anyone can take part in citizen science and many projects are suitable for all ages and abilities.

Citizen science is a key part of our conservation work. We use the data you collect in our citizen science projects to understand the state of our ocean and how it’s changing, allowing us to campaign for scientifically backed solutions and drive change. Without citizen science data, it would be more difficult and costly to determine the success of our efforts and where they should be focussed.

Through citizen science, everyone can play a role in securing a cleaner, healthier, and better-protected ocean - why not get involved?
