Celebrating Citizen Science Month
2 minute read
Find out how we're celebrating Citizen Science Month this April and how you can get involved.
Small actions can have a big impact. If you’re looking for flexible, volunteering opportunities that will make a difference but that don’t take a lot of time, then citizen science activities are the perfect way to help.
Are you up for the challenge?
To celebrate citizen science month, we’re challenging you to take part in one citizen science activity this April. There are lots of ways to take part at the Marine Conservation Society.
What do I need to do?
- Choose which of our activities you’d like to get involved in
- Find out what you need to do by reading our webpages or watching one of our online training videos
- The fun bit - head outside and take part!
- Share your pictures with us on social media @mcsuk
- Print off your certificate (at the bottom of this page)

You did it!
Thank you for taking part in our Citizen Science Month challenge – you're now a citizen scientist!
You’ve done something amazing for our ocean and contributed to scientific research that will create real change. Together with volunteers around the UK, your effort expands scientific knowledge and provides evidence which we can use to campaign for change to better protect our ocean.
Now that you know how easy it is to get involved, why not try another activity? You can take part in any of our volunteering activities all year round.
