Celebrating Citizen Science Month

2 minute read

Find out how we're celebrating Citizen Science Month this April and how you can get involved.

Small actions can have a big impact. If you’re looking for flexible, volunteering opportunities that will make a difference but that don’t take a lot of time, then citizen science activities are the perfect way to help.

Citizen science helps to grow our knowledge of the underwater world and allows anyone, anywhere to get involved in scientific research that brings about real change.

By communities taking part in simple activities, our citizen science projects provide vital data that helps us learn more about the ocean. Whether you live by the coast or inland, you can get involved in collecting evidence to better protect our seas. Find out more about the power of citizen science below.

You did it!

Thank you for taking part in our Citizen Science Month challenge – you're now a citizen scientist!

You’ve done something amazing for our ocean and contributed to scientific research that will create real change. Together with volunteers around the UK, your effort expands scientific knowledge and provides evidence which we can use to campaign for change to better protect our ocean.

Now that you know how easy it is to get involved, why not try another activity? You can take part in any of our volunteering activities all year round.
