Port Eynon OSPAR beach clean and litter survey
Join this beach clean to help us stop harmful litter from reaching the ocean and collect vital data that we can use to bring about positive change for our seas.
Hi
I look forward to meeting you all for a beach clean and litter survey on the 16th January.
All equipment will be provided, such as gloves, litter pickers, bags and a first aid kit. If you would prefer to wear your own gloves then please do bring them along, but please ensure they are sturdy gloves. Garden gloves work really well. Otherwise I will have enough kit for everyone.
Feel free to download the app from this event, you should see a button on the right hand side. Save it to your homescreen and you can start surveying from your phone once the clean begins. I will also bring paper survey forms as well.
**Accessibility**: We want to ensure this event is as accessible as possible. Please talk to us ahead of booking if you have any health conditions, access needs or Special Educational Needs and we will do our best to support your participation.
If you have any questions or access needs, please contact lizzie.price@mcsuk.org.
More on accessibility at Port Eynon
There is a flat surface straight from the car park onto the promenade. And then there is ramp access.
The beach itself is sandy. The beach is flat at the top but does slop down towards to sea.
I look forward to meeting you all.
Also worth knowing…
What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).
What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.
Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.
39 spaces remaining - join us on the beach whilst there’s still spaces!
