For more than 40 years, we’ve been the voice of the ocean, defending marine habitats and species. We work tirelessly to protect the UK’s seas and will continue to contribute to international data and legislation where possible.

Protect our national waters and our global ocean
We are calling on the UK Government to show true leadership in protecting our ocean after committing to sign the High Seas Treaty by the end of 2025.

As a environmental charity, we are concerned about the amount of sewage in our ocean. We took legal action against the UK Government to make sewage-free seas a reality.

Ban plastic in wet wipes
We've been working to get plastic in wet wipes banned. In April 2024, all UK governments finally announced a ban on plastic in single-use wet wipes.
Stop Ocean Threads
Our clothes are made of millions of tiny fibres, the majority of which are plastic. With every wash, microfibres shed from our clothes and end up in the environment. We've been campaigning to #StopOceanThreads and get filters fitted in washing machines.
Ban disposable vapes
We supported environmental activist Laura Young's campaign against disposable vapes to highlight their impacts and drive action to limit pollution across the country.
