St Austell Brewery’s flagship lager brand, korev, has announced a new partnership with the Marine Conservation Society in time for the charity’s Great British Beach Clean.
korev will be supporting the charity’s week-long event in September (17th-26th) where hundreds of beach cleans take place nationwide, and the litter collected is recorded as part of their work to campaign for change as well as the International Coastal Cleanup – a global project which unites volunteers all over the world – to record and tackle ocean pollution.

The Marine Conservation Society launched the run up to this year’s Great British Bean Clean last week with Zoe Lyons, one of their ocean ambassadors. The comedian encouraged everyone to get ‘beach clean ready’, pick up their litter pickers and go out and do something good for the environment.
“The Great British Beach Clean is a fantastic way to dip a toe into the world of beach cleaning. Getting involved means you’ll be part of a global project which not only clears litter, but also gathers important data which helps to clear the ocean from pollution,” Zoe said.
"As the world starts to open up again, the Great British Beach Clean is a fantastic opportunity to get out and do something good for the environment.”
Born in Cornwall, korev (4.8% abv) unveiled a vibrant new look earlier this year inspired by its home county and the coastline. Supporting green, sustainable initiatives that help safeguard the environment is a mission that’s close to the brand and St Austell Brewery’s heart.
Laura McKay, Head of Marketing for St Austell Brewery’s Beers & Brands said: “We are very proud to be teaming up with the Marine Conservation Society, a charity that works tirelessly in its fight against the threat to our oceans.
“korev is a brand that cares for the coastline and promotes a responsible approach to enjoying all that our unique and beautiful part of the world has to offer.
“We are proud to be playing a role in supporting the charity in its urgent mission for plastic free seas and helping raise awareness about the simple steps we can all take to protect our coastline.”
Richard Roberts, Marine Conservation Society Corporate Partnerships Manager
“We are excited to work together towards a cleaner, better-protected, healthier ocean. One we can all enjoy.”
In April 2018, St Austell Brewery was awarded a prestigious Queen’s Award, for sustainability across its operations and long-term commitment to green brewing and reducing the impact of its business on the environment.
The company was praised for its ongoing investments to become more sustainable, including water treatment facilities, the installation of solar panels, achieving zero waste to landfill status across its managed pub estate, and establishing a barley growing partnership with Cornish farms.
Ocean-loving shoppers – and beach cleaners - will be able to spot the Marine Conservation Society logo on korev lager’s 100% recyclable cardboard can packs soon.
