This page sets out terms and conditions for competitions we run.

Great British Beach Clean Registration Prize Draw (open until 31st July 2024)

  1. The Marine Conservation Society GBBC Beach Clean Registration Prize Draw (the "Prize Draw") is open to people aged 18 and over who register a Great British Beach Clean beach clean event with us before 31st July 2024.
  2. Employees or agencies of the Marine Conservation Society, their family members or anyone else connected with the Prize Draw may not enter.
  3. Entrants into the Prize Draw shall be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions.
  4. To enter the Prize Draw you must register a private or public Great British Beach Clean event on our website by 31st July 2024. No purchase is necessary. Qualifying beach clean events for the Great British Beach Clean must take place between 20th-29th September 2024 inclusive.

  6. Only one entry per person. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted.
  7. To enter the prize draw, register your beach clean on our website by 31st July 2024.
  8. Any beach clean organisers wishing to ‘opt out’ of the Prize Draw may do so by e-mailing us at beachwatch@mcsuk.org.
  9. The Marine Conservation Society accepts no responsibility for beach clean registrations that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be entered for any technical or other reason. 
  10. The closing date of the Prize Draw is 23:59 on 31st July 2024. Beach clean organisers can register an event at any time of the year with us, however entries received outside this time will not be considered for the Prize Draw.
  11. The winner will be chosen from a random draw of entries received in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. The draw will take place over the second week of August 2024.
  12. There will be a single prize winner who will receive a £50 Marine Conservation Society shop voucher and a selection of Cully and Sully merchandise.
  13. The single use shop voucher can be redeemed at mcsshop.org.uk. The voucher will be sent to the email address provided by the volunteer. We will require a postal address to send Cully and Sully merchandise.
  14. The Marine Conservation Society accepts no responsibility for any costs associated with the prizes and not specifically included in the prize.
  15. The winner will be notified by email on or after the second week of August 2024. If a winner does not respond to the Marine Conservation Society within 14 days of being notified by the Marine Conservation Society, then the winner's prize will be forfeited and the Marine Conservation Society shall be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above.
  16. The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and is not redeemable for cash or other prizes.
  17. The Marine Conservation Society retains the right to substitute the prize with another prize of similar value in the event the original prize offered is not available.
  18. The Marine Conservation Society shall use and take care of any personal information you supply to it as described in its privacy policy and in accordance with data protection legislation. By entering the Prize Draw, you agree to the collection, retention, usage and distribution of your personal information in order to process and contact you about your Prize Draw entry.
  19. The Marine Conservation Society reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this Prize Draw with or without prior notice due to reasons outside its control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud). The decision of the Marine Conservation Society in all matters under its control is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  20. The Prize Draw will be governed by English law and entrants to the Prize Draw submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
