Volunteer with us this October half-term! Bring your kids along to Pathhead Sands Beach in Kirkcaldy and help care for the beach we all love. This event is for everyone and it's a great chance to teach children how to care for our coastline.

While picking up litter, you’ll also be helping the Marine Conservation Society collect important data on the types and amounts of litter, and how it affects our environment. It’s a fun, hands-on way for everyone to make a real difference.

A Sea Champion will welcome you at 10am on the beach and give out litter pickers, gloves and bags. Please feel free to bring your own equipment.

What to bring

We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink.

Also worth knowing…

What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).

What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.

Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.
