Kinder Collective, Tide & Seek Beach School and Broadstairs Town Team are coming together to celebrate our beautiful coastline — and we’d love for you to join us!

The Great British Beach Clean, run by the Marine Conservation Society, takes place every September, bringing communities together across the UK to clear litter from our shores and record what we find. These results help influence change, from reducing single-use plastics to protecting marine life.

This family-friendly clean is the perfect chance for little eco-warriors (and their grown-ups!) to roll up their sleeves and make a difference. Even the tiniest hands can help care for our planet.

When: Friday 26 September, 4pm<br /> Where: Meet by the first set of beach huts at the bottom of the slope (closest end of Stone Bay to Viking Bay)

All equipment is provided — gloves, hi-vis vests, and litter pickers — so just bring sensible shoes and dress for the weather.

Important Info

Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.

Booking is essential so we can monitor numbers — but there’ll be no storytime afterwards this time. That way we can spend as long as we like cleaning the beach, and families are welcome to come and go as they please.

We’ll go ahead in light rain — check Instagram for updates if the forecast looks extreme.

By signing up, you’ll also join our Kinder Crew newsletter — don’t worry, we keep it light and you can opt out anytime.

💚 Let’s come together, care for our beaches, and inspire our little ones to love the planet. We can’t wait to see you there!

Also worth knowing…

What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).

What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.

Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.

26 spaces remaining - join us on the beach whilst there’s still spaces!
