Family-friendly beach clean and litter survey - New Brighton!
Join this beach clean to help us stop harmful litter from reaching the ocean and collect vital data that we can use to bring about positive change for our seas.
Join MCS and the New Brightener's for a family-friendly beach clean and litter survey at New Brighton beach to celebrate this year Great British Beach Clean.
All ages welcome. Under 16's will need to be accompanied by an adult. There is a cap on the number of people I can provide equipment for, so please register your interest so you don't miss out.
All equipment provided, but you are welcome to bring your own gloves if you prefer (gardening gloves are fine). Please dress for the weather and bring comfortable footwear. Water in a reusable bottle is advised (beach cleaning can be thirsty work!)
The clean and litter survey will last between 1 hour - 1 hour 30 minutes depending on how much litter we find and how long any little people can last for.
We'll be kicking off promptly at 11:30am, so please allow enough time get down to the beach from the car park.
Parking: Parking can be found at Perch Rock car park (CH45 2JS) and all along Marine Promenade.
Hope to see you there!
Also worth knowing…
What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).
What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.
Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.
21 spaces remaining - join us on the beach whilst there’s still spaces!
