Dunbar East Great British Beach Clean

A briefing will be held at 5.30pm at the meeting point at the bottom of Golf House Rd. We will then do a litter survey for a 100m stretch running west from that point, working in small teams. Once the 100m is cleared/surveyed, we will continue to clean for a little longer. The start time is approximately 2 hours after high tide.

There is on-street parking. There are buses (x7) and Dunbar train station is a short walk. Golf House Rd is just off the A1087 at the Spott Rd side of Dunbar.

Sacks and litter pickers will be provided. We have some gloves, but please bring your own 'gardening type' if you have them. We will have a first-aid kit and hand sanitiser, but again if you wish to bring your own hand sanitiser, please do.

Weather conditions will be checked closer to the time.

What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).

What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.

Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.
