Cromarty Beach Winter beach clean
Join this beach clean to help us stop harmful litter from reaching the ocean and collect vital data that we can use to bring about positive change for our seas.
We will clean the beach area from the slipway eastward. Meet outside the Slaughterhouse coffee shop, just above the slipway. If you have gardening gloves then bring those along (we have a few pairs for you to borrow if not). Wrap up well. Watch out on Facebook on Cromarty Community pages or on the MCS site for news of change or cancellation if the weather looks bad. Children are very welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.
We will be collecting rubbish and recording our finds.
Beach stretch details
This stretch starts to the right of the ferry slip from the edge of the slip 100m along the beach in front of the Slaughterhouse Cafe.
Also worth knowing…
What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).
What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.
Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.
19 spaces remaining - join us on the beach whilst there’s still spaces!
