Join the Marine Conservation Society and Clean Sea Newquay for a family-friendly beach clean and litter survey at Great Western Beach!

This event is open to all ages, but please note that under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Due to limited equipment, we kindly ask that you register your interest in advance to ensure your spot.

All necessary equipment will be provided for the clean-up. However, you are welcome to bring your own gloves if you prefer (gardening gloves work well). Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable footwear. Remember to bring water in a reusable bottle, as beach cleaning can be thirsty work!

We encourage the use of sustainable transport to the event. The local train station is a 5 minute walk from the beach, and there are cycle racks available at the train station. If you are driving, the nearest car park is located at the train station with the postcode TR7 2NG.

The clean and litter survey will last between 60 and 90 minutes depending on how much litter we find. The nearest public toilets to the beach are located at the base of the ramp to Great Western Beach.

We'll be kicking off promptly at 9am, so please allow enough time to get down to the beach from the car park.

For any questions or additional information, please contact Tom Crawford at tom.crawford@mcsuk.org.

Hope to see you on the beach!

Also worth knowing…

What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).

What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.

Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.

39 spaces remaining - join us on the beach whilst there’s still spaces!
