Who we are
The Marine Conservation Society is the UK's leading marine charity run by and for ocean lovers. We work towards our vision of a sea full of life, where nature flourishes and people thrive.
The Marine Conservation Society was founded in the United Kingdom in 1977 by a group of scientists, divers, and environmentalists that were growing increasingly concerned by the degradation of marine habitats and its wildlife.
Ever since its initial beginnings, The Marine Conservation Society has placed community involvement and educational outreach at the heart of the non-profit organisation when campaigning for the protection of marine environments.
